A Place Further Than the Universe English dub premiere

Anime Limited made waves in November 2022 with the announcement of an English dub for the series, which was produced by Studio Nano.

The dub had its world premiere at Anime NYC in 2022, setting the stage for the upcoming Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release that, of course, includes the English dub of the anime series.

About the anime

A Place Further Than the Universe first graced screens in January 2018, captivating audiences with its breathtaking animation and heartfelt story of a group of girls following their dreams.

Crunchyroll streamed the anime series as it aired, with the anime garnering huge praise from fans around the globe.

Even now, more than six years after its release, A Place Further Than the Universe is still one of the most highly-rated adventure anime in the last decade, with a high rating of 8.52 out of 10 on My Anime List alone.

Dive into the World of A Place Further Than the Universe

With the upcoming Blu-ray Collector’s Edition, American home video company Shout! Studios paints a vivid picture of the anime’s essence, promising viewers an expedition of self-discovery and adventure like never before.

They describe the plot of the A Place Further Than the Universe anime series like this:

Scenery that we have never seen. Sounds that we have never heard. Scent that we have never smelled. Food that we have never tasted. And the surge of emotion that we have never experienced. This is the expedition of recollecting the pieces torn apart and sensation left alone. When we reach that place, what will we think?

Howling, 40 degree angle. Raging, 50 degree angle. Shouting, 60 degree angle. A wilderness beyond the heavy sea. The furthest south, far from civilization. At the top of the Earth. We will find lights through the girls’ eyes to live tomorrow.

Sure, none of that really makes sense, but it certainly makes you feel excited about the A Place Further than the Universe Collector’s Edition, doesn’t it?

Stellar staff and production

As for the staff involved in the anime production, the original anime project brought together an all-star team, including director Atsuko Ishizuka (known for Goodbye, Don Glees!), series composer Jukki Hanada (Steins;Gate), and character designer and chief animation director Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Overlord), with Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) writing the music.

Madhouse was in charge of the stellar animation, while the talented saya contributed an insert song, as well as the anime’s opening theme “The Girls Are Alright!

Voice actors Inori Minase, Kana Hanazawa, Yuka Iguchi, and Saori Hayami also perform the enchanting ending theme “Koko kara, Koko kara.”
