A Sign of Affection anime gets GORGEOUS teaser trailer and key visual

Oh, I could not be more excited with today’s news about the A Sign of Affection manga series written by suu Morishita that I binge-read a few months ago.

A series that is one of the best romance manga in the last few years, and one that features the absolutely sweetest main couple.

And a series that today we found out is getting an official anime, which means we will finally get to see Yuki and Itsuomi fully animated and real. Yay, freaking Yay!

What we know about the A Sign of Affection anime so far

While details about the upcoming A Sign of Affection anime (known as Yubisaki to Renren in Japan) are sparse at the moment, we do know one of my favorite anime studios — Studio Ajia-Do — (Kemono Jihen, Kakushigoto, Revenger, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord) is in charge of anime production.

Yuuta Murano (Kakushigoto) is directing the anime, with series composition by Yoko Yonaiyama (Uma Yuru), and character designs from Kasumi Sakai (Chief Animation Director of Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow).

As for the cast, Sumire Morohoshi (Emma in The Promised Neverland) is voicing Yuki Itose, with Yu Miyazaki (Daigo in Tsurune – The Linking Shot –) as Itsuomi Nagi.

Kodansha is publishing the A Sign of Affection manga series in English, with six volumes out so far and a seventh due in October, all of which are now available via Amazon.

They have this to say about the manga’s lovely plot:

Yuki is a typical college student, whose world revolves around her friends, social media, and the latest sales. But when a chance encounter on a train leads to her meeting friend-of-a-friend and fellow student Itsuomi-san, her world starts to widen.

But even though Itsuomi-kun can speak three languages, sign language isn’t one of them. Can the two learn to communicate the budding feelings between them?

The manga, by the way, has sold more than 3.5 million volumes so far.

The A Sign of Affection anime was announced with a gorgeous teaser trailer and a beautiful key visual that suggest the artwork in this will be stunning.

Check out the teaser trailer below, while the first A Sign of Affection key visual featuring Yuki and Itsuomi soon after they first meet is above.

We do know the anime will premiere some time in 2024, just not when.
