Kaina of the Great Snow Sea trailer features a beautiful art style, fantastical places and cool characters – Watch!

The upcoming anime Kaina of the Great Snow Sea anime got a new trailer today, along with a beautifully illustrated key visual. (see below)

The anime, known as Ooyukiumi no Kaina in Japan, is based on an original story from mangaka Tsutomu Nihei (Knights of Sidonia), and follows protagonists Kaina and Liliha who set off on a journey to save the world.

The new Kaina of the Great Snow Sea key visual features Kaina and Liliha front and center, with Handagil (top), Hallesora (bottom left), Ngapoge (bottom right), Orinoga (top left), Amerota (top right) and Yaona (middle left).

All of the party look as though they are deathly series about the tasks that lie ahead of them.


Meanwhile, the new Kaina of the Great Snow Sea trailer features a beautiful art style, gorgeously designed fantastical places and some pretty exciting, high-energy action scenes.

It also gives us a preview of the opening theme ‘Telepath’ from Japanese rock duo Yorushika, as well as the ending theme song ‘Juvenile‘ from four-member vocal group Greeeen.

Members of the Kaina of the Great Snow Sea cast have also been announced.

They include Yoshimasa Hosoya (Shoutarou in Fuuto Tantei) as Kaina, the wonderful Rie Takahashi (Ena in Laid-Back Camp) as Liliha, Ayumu Murase (Hinata in Haikyu!!) as Yaona, Katsuyuki Konishi (Tengen in Demon Slayer) as Orinoga, Nobuyuki Hiyama (Eclair Acleir Aicler in Overlord) who is voicing Handagil, Maaya Sakamoto (Shiro in Child of Kamiari Month) as Amerote, Tomokazu Sugita (Rudeus in Mushoku Tensei) as Ngapoge, and Kenyuu Horiuchi (Kouichi in Psycho Pass) who is voicing Hallesora.

The Kaina of the Great Snow Sea anime is being directed by Hiroaki Ando (Ajin), with series composition by Sadayuki Murai (Sabikui Bisco), and character designs from Ryouhei Fukushi.

Polygon Pictures is in charge of anime production.

Kaina of the Great Snow Sea will premiere in Japan on January 11th, 2023, followed by streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide.
