Nao Tōyama’s ‘Samenai Mahō’ is the perfect Restaurant to Another World 2 ED

While everything about the Restaurant to Another World anime is perfect, is it just me or are the song’s ending theme songs absolute standouts as well?

I mean, I thought the Restaurant to Another World Season 1 ending song — Kiyono Yasuno’s ‘Chiisana Hitotsubu‘  — was already superb, until I heard the Restaurant to Another World Season 2 ending theme song playing, and then that ended up on my ‘Anime Songs on Repeat‘ list as well.

The Restaurant to Another World Season 2 ED, by the way, is “Samenai Mahō” by Nao Tōyama.

For many, including myself, it probably shouldn’t be a surprise then that the song is so good.

After all, Tōyama not only has a gorgeous singing voice, she is also one of Japan’s most successful voice actresses, having already voiced iconic characters like Laid-Back Camp‘s Rin Shima, Kin-Iro Mosaic‘s Karen, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl‘s Tomoe and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU‘s Yui.

Nao Tōyama also plays Hilda the cat-eared cat-eyed demon mercenary in Restaurant to Another World 2 (see above).

Another standout anime character for sure.

Why ‘Samenai Mahō’ (aka ‘The Magic That Doesn’t Get Cold’) by Nao Tōyama is such a perfect song for the ending of this wonderful anime though is simple to explain, and it is all in its sweet, catchy melody and lovely lyrics, as well as Nao Tōyama’s wonderful voice.

Lyrics that tell the listener about eating food behind the magical door, how comfortable and safe it feels and how everyone always smiles there as they store up memories of wonderful times.

Just like the anime itself makes you feel when you watch it, eh?

Tōyama also released an official ”Samenai Mahō‘ music video featuring the voice actress/singer serving delicious food to her own guests, and enjoying the pleasure eating and drinking together brings.

Listen to Nao Tōyama ‘ ‘Samenai Mahō‘, the Restaurant to Another World 2 ending theme song in that video, and on Nao’s EP below.

It is the second time I have written about this wonderful anime theme song since I first heard it months ago, because I still love it oh so much.

Restaurant to Another World — Seasons 1 and 2 — are streaming on Crunchyroll.
