Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, Season 2 is due to premiere on July 11th in Japan, with the military-themed action fantasy getting a new trailer today as well as two more additions to its cast.
The latest Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, Season 2 trailer gives us a nice rundown of what we can expect with the plot of the second season, as well as a snippet of the anime’s ending theme ‘Para Bellum‘ by Sizuki.
The two new cast members named are Takehito Koyasu (Ojisan in Uncle From Another World) who will voice Growley, and Ryoutarou Okiayu (Zwei in The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil) who plays Talisman.
Character art for both characters was also released.
Growley and Talisman and their voice actors join the previously introduced Magnacasa, Sir Karosos Newton, and Garganly and their VAs.
The anime is based on the popular light novel series written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe.
The novels are published in English by Yen Press, with Volume 13 due out in July.
They describe the plot like this:
Alice pursues the Grand Witch Nebulis to the Empire to stop her rampage, but instead, she comes across her transformed older sister, Elletear.
No longer human, Elletear has gained immense power from merging with the calamity at the planet’s core, and she’s set on destroying the Empire and the Sovereignty to achieve her dream of building a true paradise for witches.
To prevent their nations from being reduced to ashes, Lord Yunmelngen, Iska, and Alice form a united front against Elletear and her knight, the traitorous Saint Disciple Joheim.
The anime adaptation is directed by Yuki Inaba (Kamikatsu: Working for God in a Godless World), with Studio Palette in providing the series composition and scripts, and Kaori Yoshikawa (chief animation director for The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) in charge of character designs.
Both Studio Palette and SILVER LINK are producing the anime.
