The upcoming Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora film releases on August 16th, and the production committee is gearing up with new daily promotions in the form of character videos for the six main characters.
So far this week, character videos for Heshikiri Hasebe and Tsurumaru Kuninaga have been released via X, with the third video now out today.
That video is a Shokudaikiri Mitsutada character video that shows the sword looking as stylish as ever, while going out of his way to always support his troops.
Mitsuda is voiced by Takuya Satou (Dino in Delico’s Nursery).
The next Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora character video will be out tomorrow via X and the anime’s official website.
Touken Ranbu Kai film details
The upcoming Touken Ranbu film is being directed by Kazuya Ichikawa (Touken Ranbu Kai Kyoden), with Kenichi Suemitsu (Delico’s Nursery) writing the scripts, and Mari Takada (Bakugan: Evolutions) designing the characters.
The anime series is based on the hugely popular online Touken Ranbu sword-training simulation game that has spawned films, games, musicals and anime series and films.
TOHO Animation describes the plot of the upcoming Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora film in this way:
Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, who nearly wiped out his own unit, voluntarily resigns from the post of kinslayer.
Heshikiri Hasebe is appointed as the new kinsman by his master, the Shinto priest. However, Heshikiri Hasebe is not satisfied with this.
When Heshikiri Hasebe is ordered to go into battle by the Lord High Priest, he begs Yamanbagiri Kunihiro to join him and sets off with Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Doudanuki Masakuni, Ookurikara and others for the ‘Battle of Bitchu Takamatsu Castle’.
Hashiba Hideyoshi and his men, led by Kanbei Kuroda, build an embankment to attack Bitchu Takamatsu Castle by water. At the same time, Akechi’s forces are searching for Nobunaga’s head at Honnoji.
Will they be able to find the answers to their questions in this intertwining and intersecting story?
