Tower of God 2 gets 2-minute-plus trailer that sets up the anime nicely for its 2nd season

Now, personally I couldn’t even finish the first episode of the first season of Tower of God, the animation and art style were so bad, so I will admit upfront this one isn’t for me.

If you are a fan, though, you will be happy to know a new Tower of God 2 trailer has just been released that is longer than two minutes in length.

That means it does a pretty decent job setting up the anime for its upcoming second season, while also introducing some of its new characters.

A trailer, by the way, that has an art style change from Season 1, so at least this one may be easier on the eyes.

The trailer also includes a snippet of the Tower of God 2 opening theme song — ‘Rise Up‘ by NiziU. A song that fans on social media are already pointing out is bland and weak.

On that score, though, you never know, as anime theme songs do tend to grow on you the more you hear them.

Tower of God 2 staff and streaming details

Tower of God 2 is due to premiere on July 7th on Crunchyroll, with the streaming platform announcing it will be available for subscribers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.

The anime is being chief directed by Kazuyoshi Takeuchi, who has a history of working on low-rated anime like City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust, with Akira Suzuki, who only has previous experience as an art director, taking over directing from Season 1’s Takashi Sano (Rick and Morty: The Anime).

Returning staff, however, include Erika Yoshida (Bocchi the Rock!), who is back in charge of scripts, with Miho Tanino back designing the characters, albeit with a different art style.

Kevin Penkin will once again compose the anime’s soundtrack.

The studio has also changed from Season 1’s Telecom Animation Film to The Answer Studio.

There is no word yet on how many episodes Tower of God 2 will feature, although there have been rumors it will have two cours, so it could be quite a bit longer than the first season.

Watch the new Tower of God 2 trailer below as, if the anime is your thing (and more power to ya, if it is), you should be pretty happy with the details it includes.

Until then, you can still watch/rewatch the fantasy anime’s first season on Crunchyroll.

About Steve Reynolds

If Dragon Ball was your first love, we might just have something in common. Throw in Sailor Moon, Akira, Pokemon and Revolutionary Girl Utena, and you and I could be good friends. Problem is, I rarely leave my house as there's that manga collection I need to catch up on.
